Hi, my name is Dave Lourdes and I’m the founder and director of Evolving Human Potential. Throughout my life I’ve been endlessly fascinated with human behaviour. It always puzzled me what sets the winners from the losers; what makes people play full on; and how is it that some people can present and communicate in a way that commands attention and respect, and gets the results they want.
Many of them look average and ordinary, but they can motivate, captivate and command crowds with ease. And most of the time it’s not their looks, luck or even position. You see, I wasn’t always the confident and outspoken person that I am today. Far from it. I couldn’t even look people in the eye, or hold their attention for longer than two minutes.
I always wanted to be more, and to make a bigger contribution to my place of work, but deep inside I was too scared or too fearful to step up to the next level. One day I realised that my close friends and colleagues were doing just the same. I mean smart, talented people who were stuck with producing mediocre results. I realised how that made them feel deep inside, and how that affected their on-job performance and results.
